New name, same great team!

You may have noticed some exciting changes here this week. We’ve got a shiny new name, new contact details and lots of new ideas!

We are now Earl & Rymer 👋🏼

So why the name change? Whilst we will always have a soft spot for Molly and Maud’s Place (some of you will know this name came from our resident sheep!) Both the sheep and our business have moved on, and we wanted something that felt more representative of us and our growing and evolving business. After lots of brainstorming, discussions and vetoes (turns out not all ideas are good ones 😅). We settled on Earl and Rymer – an amalgamation of Karen and Chloe’s names.

We are still the same core team, dealing in the same beautiful decorative and interesting antiques and art – but as we head towards the end of the year, Karen is (attempting) to enjoy a well-earned retirement and Charlie has come back on board as our Operations Manager. Moving into 2026 will be growing our Stays and Interiors offerings. More on this to come soon!

A huge thank you to all our wonderful customers and friends, who have been with us for the past 12 years. We look forward to continuing to work with you as Earl & Rymer grows.

The people behind the pieces

The people behind the pieces – meet Chloe, one of our Founders/Directors (left) and Charlie, our Operations Manager (right).

As the title suggests, Chloe has been part of the company from the very start. She is a Yorkshire lass, and after spending some time in America and South Wales for work, she thought there was no better place to start the business than home. Two words to describe Chloe are hands on! She does the majority of our stock buying, and what an eye she has, as well as a lot of our minor restoration, light upholstery and repairs and has recently become our in-house photographer. She loves to be in and amongst the products and always has a hundred new ideas.

Charlie’s job is to bring Chloe’s ideas to life – she organises us, keeps us straight and boy does she love a process! She has been with the business on and off since 2018, and with Karen stepping away to retire this year, has come back on board full time. Originally from the south coast, she has had a varied career working in fashion, property, artisan food and a successful spell running her own business. After living in London and York, she has settled in rural North Yorkshire.

As with all businesses, but especially small businesses, the people are the most important part! Our team are amazing and try their hands at anything and everything; one day they are copywriters, the next furniture restorers, the next couriers…who knows what they will be next!
