VICTORIAN BENCH

VICTORIAN BENCH

Period: 19th Century

Price: sold

Impressive Victorian oak and cast iron garden bench.

The seat is formed from curved wooden slats secured with dome rivets. The cast iron supports feature foliate detailing. The piece is substantial and very heavy, most likely by the Falkirk iron works and once used as a park bench. Examples can be found in London’s Kensington Gardens.

The top scrolled rail has had primitive repair with a 12.5cm oak piece.
