Description
A fine antique Persian Afshar Rug, handwoven by Afshar tribal weavers in southwest Persia, circa 1880–1900. This striking piece features an indigo field with a repeating diamond lattice enclosing stylised floral motifs. Framed by multiple geometric borders.
Woven entirely from hand-spun wool on a wool foundation and coloured with natural dyes, the rug has developed a soft handle and warm patina through time. It shows signs of age and use consistent with its age but remains structurally sound and visually captivating.
