A striking late 19th-century Victorian pine fireplace surround of handsome architectural form.

Crafted with fine details, the frieze features a central tablet depicting a horse-drawn chariot scene guided by cherubs, bordered by delicate scrolling swags and classic urn motifs. The mantel frame is flanked on either side by impressive Corinthian column supports, complete with acanthus leaf capitals, resting on substantial block feet. Its stripped pine timber finish showcases a rich natural grain alongside fine craquelure detail on the applied decorative elements.

Condition: In good antique condition with age-appropriate wear throughout. Solid and sturdy overall, with light historic losses and wear to the timber along the rear edges as photographed. There have been cuts to the bottom of the fireplace where it was placed around a skirting board. Ready to serve as a stunning focal point.
