Sue Nichol is a Yorkshire-based artist, she was born in Hartlepool on the North East coast  

And is known for atmospheric oil paintings of the British coast and moorlands, particularly Staithes and the North Yorkshire and Derbyshire moors. Inspired by the sea and “edges of the land”. She works primarily in oils, her work features bold strokes, impasto and textured, layered techniques, often using a palette knife. 

She has run workshops and events with the Chatsworth Estate, is a member of The Peak District Artisans and exhibits at Staithes Gallery and The Yard Gallery in Sheffield.
